Althen Sensors is expanding its vibration portfolio with the VDS130. The compact 4-channel vibration monitoring device converts measurement data from analog IEPE accelerometers into digital condition-monitoring data and transmits it via MQTT to IIoT platforms, cloud solutions, or enterprise systems.

Typical application areas for the VDS130 include condition monitoring in factory automation as well as system integrator projects where analog IEPE vibration sensors need to be connected to digital vibration monitoring platforms (cloud or on-premises).

Thanks to an additional speed reference (RPM/tacho), the module is particularly suitable for speed-related analyses on rotating machinery—such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, or spindles—where order tracking and speed correlation are essential. Accordingly, the solution is primarily used in industry and production (condition monitoring and maintenance), in machinery and plant engineering—especially for retrofit projects that continue to use existing IEPE sensor technology—and by automation and IIoT integrators who want to reliably transfer condition data via MQTT into IT/OT systems.

With a frequency response up to 40 kHz (±5%) and a sampling rate of up to 102.4 kHz, the module provides not only overall values but also time waveforms as well as spectra/FFT up to 40 kHz (6,400 lines, window functions including Hanning/Flat Top). Multifunctional LED status indicators support operation and service; frequency bands are aligned with guidelines such as ISO 10816-3 / 20816-3 / 17243.
