PhotonFirst Launches New Fiber Optic Sensing Interrogators Nexus-100 and AGTR-NEO
May 6, 2025
PhotonFirst, a leader in integrated photonics sensing, is proud to announce the release of its latest Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) interrogators: the AGTR-NEO, along with the Nexus-100. These cutting-edge systems are designed to meet the demanding requirements of e.g. the aerospace and defense industries, providing high-precision measurement and monitoring capabilities.
The AGTR-NEO is engineered for dynamic applications, providing high sampling rates for single-channel measurements and efficient multi-channel acquisition. Its features include:
• 8 optical channels.
• 19.2 kHz single-channel sampling rate.
• DO-160G qualification for aerospace integration.
• Onboard data processing and storage.
• Ethernet communication supporting TCP or UDP protocols.
• ARINC 801 optical interface for compatibility with aerospace communication standards.
The Nexus-100 FBG Interrogator is designed for quasi-distributed sensing. It represents the next generation of miniaturized and programmable photonics for FBG interrogation. This cost-effective chip-based solution is ideal for developing efficient FBG-based sensing applications.
• Nexus-100 key features:
• 1 optical channel, up to 50 kHz sampling rate.
• Up to 100 FBGs.
• Programmable operation.
• Ethernet UDP.
PhotonFirst's FBG interrogators offer significant advantages for aerospace and defense, including simplified system architecture, efficient sensor installation, and weight reduction. These systems are designed to provide accurate and reliable data for structural health monitoring, load testing, and various other critical applications.
