High-performance temperature sensor - Now also available with PWM, I2C and analog output
Mar 17, 2025
The all-rounder for your application
Whether your application requires outstanding accuracy of 0.04°C including factory calibration, a very low-noise signal with a resolution better than 0.0001°C or almost perfect long-term stability and repeatability - you get all this in just one product.
The long-established temperature sensor is now not only available as PWM (pulse width modulation), but now also with an I2C or analog output signal. Furthermore, you can purchase the sensor as you wish. Whether as a pure temperature chip, a ready-made standard solution or as a customer-specific cable probe.

Who has the smallest on the market?
In situations where space for temperature measurement is extremely limited, tiny temperature sensors are ideal. The Pt sensors (Pt100 & Pt1000) can be fitted in a ceramic sleeve with a diameter of just 1.2mm. Alternatively, a 1.7mm diameter stainless steel sleeve can be used, allowing use in a wide range of applications. The use of ceramic allows use with a wide range of detergents, blood, dialysis fluid and aggressive media. The Pt elements are available in a range of accuracy classes, enabling high accuracy measurements to be made. The low intrinsic mass of the sensor enables an exceptionally high response speed.
Customized temperature cable sensors - for demanding environments
For highly demanding applications in which sensors are rinsed with aggressive cleaning agents, come into contact with blood or other critical media or the temperature of corrosive media needs to be measured - we have the solution. Sensors mounted on a ceramic or titanium sleeve are suitable for all these applications. These are resistant to almost all common media and cleaning agents.
The cases mentioned above mostly occur in medical applications, but not only there. In all these cases, we offer advantages with our SMT172. These include extreme accuracy, factory calibration and very low temperature drift over time - which means that unnecessary recalibration can save time and money.
