A strategic partner to Bavaria’s sensor industry—for 20 years.
What began in 2006 as a regional network is now one of Bavaria’s most effective cluster organizations: The Strategic Partnership for Sensor Technology (Strategische Partnerschaft Sensorik e.V.) connects companies, research institutions, and politics—and provides operational support where it is needed. Not as an advisory body that merely makes recommendations, but as a long-term partner that thinks ahead, helps develop technology, and offers a wide range of services.
For small and medium-sized enterprises, membership thus also means access to an external research department that is immediately ready for action—from electronic hardware and firmware to market-ready prototypes.
What we offer:
Free access to a cross-industry network and experts
• Free specialist forums
• Direct contact with experts and research institutions
• Targeted identification of technology trends
• Practice-oriented technology sprints
Technology scouting and support for development projects
• Support in developing sensor-based solutions
• Technology and partner scouting
• Consulting on securing funding
• Programs to secure skilled workers
A Bridge to Global Markets – Increasing the Visibility of the Industry and Its Companies
• Public relations
• Engagement with policymakers
• Participation in international trade shows
• Promoting global competitiveness
Our Focus Areas:
• Smart Sensors & Measurement Technology
• Electronic Systems
• Digitalization & Digital Transformation

Sensorik-Bayern GmbH – operational development expertise within the network
Sensorik-Bayern GmbH is a research partner and development service provider for innovative sensor systems and electronic solutions – from the initial idea to the finished prototype series. As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Strategic Partnership for Sensor Technology (Strategische Partnerschaft Sensorik e.V.), it is excellently networked within the Bavarian sensor technology ecosystem and brings deep technological expertise directly to companies.
This gives small and medium-sized enterprises access to an external research department that is immediately ready for use—without the need to first build up internal specialized knowledge.
What we develop:
The team supports customers from the feasibility study through electronics and firmware design to the production of complete prototype series. Our core competencies include:
• Wireless sensor networks (Bluetooth Low Energy, Open Thread, LTE-M, NB-IoT) – e.g., for smart cities or environmental asset monitoring
• IIoT measurement systems for intelligent condition monitoring and predictive maintenance
• Non-intrusive retrofit solutions for the digitalization of existing plants and infrastructure
• Flexible 3D textile sensors for robotics, medical technology, and underwater applications (Bionic RoboSkin)
• Digital twins through precise position and pose tracking for autonomous systems
• Secure and intelligent electronic systems (security-by-design) for trustworthy products in Industry 4.0
• Application-specific sensor systems for automotive, medical, and environmental technology
More than just contract research:
Sensorik-Bayern GmbH thinks ahead with its own R&D projects—it builds expertise in future-oriented fields before the market demands it. Companies thus benefit from proven know-how in areas such as Industrial IoT, robotics, digital twins, and AI-supported manufacturing—when they need it, it’s already available.
