Insulating the supply of fieldbuses at high temperatures up to 6kV:
The ILDC1x series is a fully regulated 3.3 V to 3.3 V DC-DC converter with one quarter watt, in an ultra-miniature DFN6 package with 3 mm x 5.5 mm. The device can be used to create an isolated 3.3 volt bus supply from a controller supply. NVE's proven IsoLoop isolation technology® and a unique ceramic/polymer composite barrier provide full isolation of 2.5 kV (up to 6 kV in SOIC package) and virtually unlimited barrier life. The ILDC1x minimizes the footprint on the board and requires only three external capacitors. No additional regulation is required and there is no minimum load.
Frequency-hopping and shielding reduce EMI, and therefore additional ferrite beads are not required for EMI mitigation. A high-temperature process enables a junction temperature of up to 175 °C at full power up to 125 °C operating temperature without deterioration in performance. The integrated short-circuit protection also avoids excessive power dissipation.
