The areas of application of the ultraminiature sensor include tactile processes in microelectronics, optics and minimally invasive surgery.

There is an M2.5 female thread on each end of the force sensor for easy attachment to tools or other equipment. The installation is uncomplicated and safe thanks to the heels and anti-rotation device.

There are two variants of the sensor: a standard version with PUR cable and potting for temperatures up to 80°C and an autoclavable version KD12S 20N/AC with Teflon cable and silicone potting for temperatures up to 150°C.
The KD12s force sensor is made of titanium 3.7165 (Ti6Al-4V) and is designed for a nominal force of 20 N, but can be used up to a limit force of 60 N.

An optional version with semiconductor strain gauges for a nominal force of 1 N is also available.
