Digital gel protected relative pressure sensor MS5547
Apr 24, 2024
Gel-protected pressure sensors in SMD housings enjoy widespread popularity due to their versatile applicability, e.g. in pneumatics, wearables or medical technology. This inexpensive yet robust design is now also available in a version for relative pressures up to 2 bar.
Media-resistant relative pressure sensors are used in a wide variety of areas, such as medical technology, but also in e-cigarettes. You can therefore choose between a bio-compatible silicone gel and a particularly robust flourogel.
The new MS5547 from TE Connectivity offers the highest accuracy in the range from -200 to +2200 mbar. The pressure and temperature data can be read out in 24 bits via I²C or SPI. The 11 correction coefficients stored in the sensor enable external compensation, with which an accuracy (TEB) of less than 5 mbar is achieved.
The biocompatible plastic housing is sealed with an O-ring measuring 2 x 1 mm². The total size of the sensor is only 4 x 4 x 4.4 mm³. The sensor is exposed to atmospheric pressure through a little whole in the ceramic un-der the sensor. The sensors are suitable for reflow soldering and are of course RoHS and REACH compliant.
