The SENSOR+TEST 2020 is well on its way with new conferences and new topics for an even more extensive innovation dialog

Mar 12, 2020

The preparations for the SENSOR+TEST from 23 to 25 June 2020 are in top gear. We still have about 100 days to the opening. Nevertheless, thanks to the annual press conference of the AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement in Nuremberg, organizer Holger Bödeker was able to give an overall cautious positive outlook for this year’s internationally leading trade fair for sensor, measuring, and testing technology. And that despite deteriorated circumstances.

Welcome to the innovation dialog! is again the motto from the 23 to the 25 of June, 2020, on the Nuremberg fair grounds. During this time the SENSOR+TEST depicts the entire technical system competence for measuring, testing, and monitoring tasks in all industries – from simple sensors to sophisticated evaluations. According to Holger Bödeker, managing director of the AMA Service GmbH, the SENSOR+TEST 2020 will hold its own surprisingly well. “Hall 1 is completely booked out and halls 2 and 3C are quickly filling up. Currently we expect more than 500 exhibitors from 30 countries, who will take up over 7500 square meters of floor space. Thus, this event hasn’t lost a bit of its attraction even in this difficult year.” And again, the share of exhibitors from abroad will show a high value of almost 40%, confirming the status of the SENSOR+TEST as the leading international trade fair in its field.

Full event program expected
The comprehensive program offered by the SENSOR+TEST for years provides again in 2020 top-notch forums at two trade-fair halls. Holger Bödeker commented, “The quality of the submissions is very high thanks to the assessment by a board of experts. Especially the visitors profit from this.” Thus, interested parties can already look forward to a very attractive program. The forums are complemented by a Career Center, where engineers and students of the various technical fields can get tips on their applications and careers from human-resources professionals.

Special topic attracts new exhibitors
The trade fair was able to attract new exhibitors again this year with its special topic “Sensor and measuring technology for condition monitoring”. “The special forum will seemingly be filled, offering visitors to the fair an attractive opportunity to find solutions in the area of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. In this way the SENSOR+TEST 2020 underlines the significance of sensors and measurement as the crucial key technology for the digitalization of technical processes and predictive condition monitoring for many industries and areas of application,” says Holger Bödeker. Besides the special forum, the lecture forum on 23 June 2020 as well as many exhibitors will expand on this special topic. Thus the special topic will provide an outstanding platform for discussions and the innovation dialog between suppliers and users in this important area of technology.

Community stands well manned
There is quite a demand for publicly funded participation at the community stand “Innovation Made in Germany” for young innovative enterprises. The stand will be supported in 2020 for the 13th time in succession by the German Federal Ministry of Economy. It is already fully booked. Well established is also the special stand “Vision Sensors and Systems.” This shows the close link between sensors and visual inspections in industry and research.

Further community stands are to be organized by research groups, such as Bayern Innovativ, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, or the Strategische Partnerschaft Sensorik. The Czech Pavilion will be present again as well. Also coming this year is the community stand of the ISAD Association focusing on short-range radio communication.

New and established conferences
This year the SENSOR+TEST features a new high-carat conference with the SMSI 2020 - Sensor and Measurement Science International. “The new format has quite a punch as it links up national and international representatives from research, science, and industry. The SMSI offers a platform for the exchange of the latest research results,” says Holger Bödeker. Suppliers as well as users can obtain sound insights into future-relevant research results. With over 180 submissions plus special sessions and keynotes, for instance from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National Physical Laboratory (NPL), and Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), the new conference (22 – 25 June 2020) is to set new standards in an exciting range of topics (www.smsi-conference.com).

The ettc2020 European Test and Telemetry Conference in hall 2 is the most important international platform for telemetry, telecontrol, test instrumentation, and data processing. It is being held for the fourth time parallel with the SENSOR+TEST. Visitors and participants will experience the significance of the role telemetry technologies play in areas of application, such as aerospace, automotives, and biomedicine in current industrial developments, for example IoT, big data, wireless, or UAV (drones).

Exhibiting and visiting
Enterprises still wanting to exhibit should hurry in any case. All information on the many opportunities to participate at the trade fair can be obtained at the SENSOR+TEST website. Visitors can register online here for tickets. www.sensor-test.com

Novelties at a glance
As of today, the SENSOR+TEST will emphasize innovation communication even more. On the website interested parties can find in advance numerous novelties and topics, which they can then experience live at the trade fair. This information is complemented by a regular newsletter calling attention to the diverse technologies offered by the exhibitors.
