Reliable pressure sensors for extreme temperatures, not only in space
Nov 3, 2025
disynet GmbH regularly presents innovative pressure sensors that work reliably under extreme temperatures - not only in the aerospace sector, but also in numerous other industries. These high-performance sensors ensure safety and precision in demanding conditions, whether in Earth orbit, during the launch process or upon re-entry into the atmosphere.
Challenges in extreme temperature conditions
In aerospace, temperatures can range from just a few Kelvin in the vacuum of space to several hundred degrees Celsius during launch and re-entry. This poses particular challenges for sensor development:
- Temperature ranges: sensors must function reliably in a wide range of temperatures, from extremely cold to extremely hot environments.
- Material resistance: The materials used must be thermally stable without deforming or losing their properties.
- Measurement accuracy: Extreme temperatures affect the electrical properties, making precise measurement difficult.
High-temperature and cryogenic sensors for a wide range of applications
Our pressure sensors are specially designed for use in cryogenic as well as higher temperature ranges. One example is the decoupling of the electronics from the sensor head, which increases measurement accuracy and provides additional protection against environmental influences. The sensors are suitable for measurements in hydrogen, liquid oxygen (LOX) and in extreme temperature environments.
One of our models, for example, impresses with a high-level signal output (4-20 mA, 0-5 V DC or 0-10 V DC) and the option to choose between interfaces such as RS232, RS485 and CAN.
In addition to a robust stainless steel housing, our sensors offer high reliability for pressure measurements at particularly high and low temperatures (from -196°C up to +316°C in some cases)
Depending on the type, customer-specific versions, such as temperature sensor and cable lengths, are also possible, as are fully customized solutions.
Multiple fields of application
Our pressure sensors are used in applications such as
- Measurement and monitoring of pressure in LNG systems
- Integration in drive systems for aerospace applications
- Monitoring of rocket propulsion systems, e.g. pressure in the combustion chamber at extreme temperatures
- Control and monitoring of nitrogen cooling systems in rockets and satellites
- Monitoring of internal pressure and ambient temperature in the vacuum of space, e.g. in satellites and spacecraft
- Nitrogen cooling systems in rocket propulsion systems
- Cryogenic pump and engine test benches
- Fuel tests and custody transfer of liquid gas
- Ground handling systems
Conclusion
With our state-of-the-art pressure sensors, we offer reliable and precise measurement results under extreme conditions - whether in Earth orbit, in the atmosphere or in industry applications. Rely on the expertise of disynet GmbH for customized sensor solutions that meet the highest demands.
