Focus on Digitalization of Process Automation
On Tuesday, the 25th of June, in Nuremberg, the SENSOR+TEST 2019 will open its doors. This is the international leading fair for sensor, measuring, and testing technology – under the motto “Welcome to the Innovation Dialog.” On the three days of the fair, about 540 exhibitors from 34 countries are expecting approximately 8,000 visitors from Germany and abroad.
Considering the two most measured parameters, pressure and temperature, we see a plethora of process techniques and measuring methods, which are in fact the core of the SENSOR+TEST trade fair. The all-encompassing digitalization in process automation has led to a significant and strong demand for sensors and measuring systems.
Thus, this is the basis for this year’s special topic: Sensor and Measuring Technology for Process Automation – to be dealt with not only at a fully booked special forum in Hall 5, but also at numerous stands. The exhibitors at the SENSOR+TEST are to present the entire spectrum of innovative solutions for accomplishing these special tasks. Moreover, they will offer intelligent evaluation tools to do so.
Holger Bödeker, AMA Service’s managing director, says, “The big trends of the time, of Industry 4.0 via the cloud, the industrial Internet of Things, digital transformations to artificial intelligence, all have one thing in common: Without the data collected by sensors, measurement, and test systems, they would be pointless. The utility of their innovations depends on the sufficient detection of operating data of machines, systems, and processes.”
International Conference
Deviating from the usual biannual sequence, the SENSOR+TEST will be accompanied by the 20. GMA/ITG-Fachtagung Sensoren und Messsysteme this year. On the 25th and 26th of June, international experts are to present the latest results from research and development in the area of sensor and measuring technology in more than 100 technical talks and 50 poster talks.
Moreover, as of 3 P.M. on Wednesday, there will be a free congress session on the topic “Citizen Science with Sensors – Sensors for Citizen Science” for the first time and not requiring any registration. All visitors of the fair are cordially invited.
Open Exhibition Forums: Know-how To Go
Besides the comprehensive conference program, visitors can obtain an overview – in passing, so to speak – at more than 60 free presentations at the two open forums in Halls 1 and 5 of the latest exhibitors’ products and developments. Interdisciplinary crossovers to vision technologies are also shown at the special stand “Vision Sensors and Systems”.
New is: The SENSOR+TEST 2019 will be open from 9 A.M to 5 P.M. on all three days of the fair. Visitors, who register online at www.sensor-test.de/gutschein, will receive a free entry voucher.
