AMA Innovation Award 2026

AMA Innovation Award for Innovative Laser Measurement Technology

Lübeck-based company Coher Sense impresses with its KISA measurement system

Berlin, June 9, 2026 – The AMA Association for Sensor and Measurement Technology (AMA) is honoring Dr. Oliver Lischtschenko with the 2026 AMA Innovation Award at SENSOR+TEST in Nuremberg. The KISA measurement system, the “multimeter for lasers” from Coher Sense UG, impressed the jury with its high technological standard and clear market relevance.

Prof. Dr. Klaus Stefan Drese, jury chair, and Peter Krause, CEO of the AMA Association, presented the winner with the prize money of 10,000 euros for his outstanding achievement.

With KISA, Coher Sense UG has developed a compact, fast, and industrially viable measurement system for laser radiation. The technology independently measures power and wavelength and is based on findings from fusion research. In certain applications, KISA thus replaces complex measurement setups such as Fizeau interferometers, spectrometers, or Fabry-Pérot interferometers, opening new possibilities for efficient laser diagnostics in research and industry.

“On behalf of the entire jury, I congratulate this year’s winner, Dr. Oliver Lischtschenko, who demonstrates a very high level of technological achievement with KISA,” explains Prof. Dr. Klaus Stefan Drese, jury chair from the Institute for Sensor and Actuator Technology at Coburg University. “A compact and industrial-ready measurement system for laser radiation can significantly simplify existing measurement tasks. This opens up new applications and new market potential. These are precisely the criteria on which we base our decision: novelty, degree of innovation, originality of the technical solution, as well as market opportunities and patent status. With KISA, everything comes together: a high level of technology forms the foundation, and the solution has good market prospects. Congratulations to Oliver Lischtschenko!”
