The new electrochemical Sensorix PH3 20 LT sensor is designed to detect phosphine (PH3) in the 0–20 ppm range. It incorporates a three-electrode electrochemical cell with an ionic liquid-based electrolyte.
The ionic liquid’s low volatility helps prevent the electrolyte from drying out, contributing to a stable baseline and reliable long-term performance. The sensor achieves a T90 response time of ≤45 seconds after two minutes of phosphine gas exposure. It is designed for relative humidity levels of 15–90% and an operating temperature range of −20 °C to +40 °C. Its expected service life in air is more than 18 months.
The Sensorix PH3 20 LT is suitable for integration into portable and fixed gas detection devices for leak monitoring and personal protection, for example, after fumigation processes in grain storage facilities and shipping containers, as well as for industrial safety applications. The Sensorix portfolio also includes additional PH3 sensor solutions with a measuring range of 0–1 ppm, including versions with no cross-sensitivity to hydrogen.
