Fraunhofer EMFT conducts cutting-edge applied research on sensors and actuators for people and the environment. The round about 190 employees in the three locations in Munich, Oberpfaffenhofen and Regensburg possess impressive long-term experience and wide-ranging know-how in the fields of microelectronics and microsystem technology. The technology offering of the research institute ranges from semiconductor processes, MEMS technologies and 3D integration to foil electronics. These nano- and microtechnologies are the basis for the other competence areas at Fraunhofer EMFT: sensor solutions, circuit design, system solution with AI, analysis and test, and micropumps. The interdisciplinary interaction of these competencies enables the development of truly novel solutions to meet the current challenges facing our society.

The Circuit Design team at Fraunhofer EMFT develops ASICs according to your requirements for ultrasonic MEMS, precision references, analog-to-digital converters, and neuromorphic computing. It offers a comprehensive range of services from concept development to validation.

In addition, the team is able to tailor ultrasonic MEMS arrays to your applications, develop suitable front-end ASICs, and validate the MEMS in its own characterization laboratory. Based on on-chip heaters, the circuit design team develops particularly temperature-stable voltage and frequency references for high-precision sensor readout circuits.
