AMS 6836 – Tiny Pressure Sensor With Analog Voltage Output In A DIP-06 Package
May 29, 2026
The new AMS 6832 pressure sensor series from the manufacturer Analog Microelectronics offers high-precision pressure measurements in an ultra-compact DIP-06 package (11 x 7.6 x 7.2 mm^3). As the small, cost-effective variant of AMS 6832, AMS 6836 was developed for miniaturizing pressure sensing and control units and has an entirely analog, ratiometric 0.5 to 4.5 V voltage output with 16-bit resolution at a supply voltage of 5 V.
The AMS 6836 series is compliant to RoHS and REACH and uses a high-quality, piezoresistive MEMS element to enable absolutely gas-tight pressure measurements without the need for a gas flow. Factory calibrated and temperature compensated in a range from -25 to 85 °C the sensors reach a high accuracy of ±0.35 %FSO at room temperature. The total error band is smaller than ±0.5 %FSO. (Example pressure range: 0 to 20 mbar)
The miniature pressure sensor series AMS 6836 covers all pressure types in a multitude of pressure ranges. The available products include differential pressure sensors (0…2.5 mbar up to 0…2 bar), bidirectional differential pressure sensors (-1.25…1.25 mbar up to -1…1 bar), absolute pressure sensors (0…500 mbar up to 0…2 bar) as well as barometric sensors (700…1200 mbar absolute).
This makes the AMS 6836 extremely versatile and suitable for precise measurements in the medical, HVAC, industrial as well as aerospace technologies. Core applications include medical ventilation, CPAP and anesthesia, industrial level and vacuum control, VAV-systems in the HVAC-sector (filter and valve control) as well as air speed and altitude measurements in aviation.
From now on the AMS 6836 series will be available worldwide directly from Analog Microelectronics (sales@analogmicro.de) or from the distributor Digikey.
