established itself as a key enabling technology in industrial machine vision. Time-of-
Flight sensors have emerged as a particularly robust and versatile solution — and a
new generation is pushing the boundaries of what is possible in dynamic scenes.
3D ToF sensing for high frame rates:
Applications such as mobile robotics, automated access control, traffic monitoring, and 3D
scanning increasingly depend on reliable and accurate depth data. Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors
have emerged as a particularly robust and versatile solution in this space, since they measure
distances directly and in real time.
As adoption of the technology grows, however, the requirements are shifting as well. While stability
and robustness remain the focus in many classical applications, scenarios in which fast motion must
be captured with precision are becoming increasingly important. It is precisely here that a new
generation of ToF sensors comes into play.
