Non-contact concentration measure-ment in liquids: QCRC quality sensors from EBE for OEM and process applications
Jun 9, 2026
The corTEC® QCRC quality sensors from EBE sensors + motion enable the precise, non-contact detection and monitoring of fluid properties in industrial OEM and process applications. By combining capacitive and conductive measurement technology, the sensors reliably detect changes in the concentration of liquids within a base fluid such as water, thereby creating new possibilities for continuous quality monitoring across a wide range of industries.
In numerous applications, it is crucial to continuously monitor the composition of liquids. Whether in chemical processes, the pharmaceutical industry, laboratory and analytical equipment, or agricultural applications—it is often necessary to determine whether the concentration of a medium remains constant or changes. The corTEC® QCRC quality sensors detect even the slightest concentrations of a medium in water completely non-contact with the medium. After calibration, the sensor reliably monitors changes within the fluid and continuously delivers real-time data directly from the process.
Precise concentration measurement in industry and cleaning technology
Especially in industrial processes, sensor technology enables continuous monitoring of mixing ratios and process media. In the pharmaceutical industry, cleaning, active, or carrier fluids can be continuously monitored to ensure consistent process quality. The technology also offers advantages in laboratory equipment and automated analysis systems, as media can be clearly identified and changes in concentration immediately detected. Another important application is the monitoring of mixing ratios for cleaning agents, for example in industrial kitchen equipment or professional dishwashing systems. There, the precise dosing of cleaning and disinfecting agents is crucial for hygiene, cleaning results, and operating costs. The QCRC sensors enable continuous monitoring of the concentration within the process fluid and reliably detect deviations in dosing. This allows cleaning processes to be automatically optimized, chemicals to be saved, and hygiene requirements to be reliably met at the same time. Applications in water treatment or in the food and beverage industry also benefit from the continuous quality control of process fluids.
Combination of capacitive and conductive measurement technology
The QCRC sensors simultaneously measure capacitive and conductive values in real time—a function that previously often required several different measurement systems. The sensors cover capacitive measurement ranges from 0.1 pF to 80 pF and enable the measurement of media with relative permittivities. In addition, conductivity can typically be determined in the range from 0.1 to 200 mS/cm.
Integrated real-time calibration compensates for environmental influences and ensures high short- and long-term stability as well as high repeatability of measurements. Thanks to their flexible design, the sensors can be integrated into hygienic, rugged, or particularly compact miniature housings. This makes them suitable for stationary industrial plants as well as for mobile devices, laboratory instruments, or OEM series applications.
