meaSONIC® – Radiation-Free Online Basis Weight Measurement up to 3500 g/m²

meaSONIC® measures the basis weight of flat webs material-independently from 0 to 3500 g/m² at up to 200 Hz. The ultrasonic absorption method replaces beta and X-ray radiometry – with no licensing burden, no radioactive sources, and no disposal or radiation-protection overhead.

- Paper and cardboard
- Plastic films (packaging, display, protective, label, lamination)
- Coated electrode foils for lithium-ion batteries (cathode, anode)
- Fuel cell components
- Drug-coated substrate films (medical/pharma)

Measurement gap >35 mm, linear response without material-specific calibration, interfaces RS232, Ethernet and USB – also suitable for retrofitting existing radiometric installations.
