The Digital Reference Material Document (DRMD) is a member of the DCC family of digital quality documents and is currently being developed by the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) in Germany, together with a software toolset for its generation and utilization. Its XML-based format is derived from the principles and structure of the DCC (digital calibration certificate) but adapted to meet the specific requirements of ISO 17034 for RM certificates and information sheets. The machine-interpretable administrative and metrological information can be readily processed by database and laboratory management systems in order to facilitate automatizations in maintenance and metrological traceability.
