AST H2 – High-Precision Pressure Transmitters for Hydrogen Applications
08.04.2025
The increasing demand for hydrogen as a sustainable energy source requires reliable sensor technology. AMSYS GmbH & Co. KG offers two pressure transmitters specifically certified for hydrogen applications: AST2000 and AST4000. With EC79 certification, these sensors are ideal for use in fuel cells, hydrogen storage systems, and refueling stations.
The sensors are made from a single piece of stainless steel (AISI 316L), without oil filling or weld seams, preventing leakage and inclusions. This ensures long-term stability and safety, particularly when handling the extremely small H₂ molecules. With a burst pressure of over 2200 bar, they provide maximum operational security.
The AST H2 pressure transmitters are designed for both stationary and mobile applications. They measure relative pressures from 0 to 448 bar with an accuracy of ±0.25%. Various output signals are available depending on requirements, including 4–20 mA current output, 1–5 V, and 0.5–4.5 V ratiometric.
With an IP66 protection rating, the sensors are resistant to environmental influences and suitable for a wide temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. Their shock resistance (EN60067), vibration resistance (EN60068), and tested EMC compatibility (EN61000) make them a robust solution for demanding hydrogen applications.
For industrial applications, AMSYS offers the AST2000, another sensor variant developed by TE Connectivity. This pressure transmitter covers a wide range of pressure levels from -1 .. 2 bar up to 0 .. 700 bar and is available with various electrical connections and output signals.
As a leading distribution partner for sensor technology in the German-speaking market, AMSYS supplies high-quality sensor solutions from TE Connectivity and supports companies in pressure measurement technology with many years of expertise.
