The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS extends the limits of current and position sensor technology with a mathematical model and implements it in the intelligent Hall sensor IC FH6D04. The advanced algorithm makes it possible for the first time to use Hall sensors to determine current and position without specific expertise in sensor technology or field theory, thus closing a gap between research and industry.
