Sensor-USB Interface for OEM Pressure Sensors AMS 5915
10.03.2025
OEM sensors (Original Equipment Manufacturer) are specifically designed for integration into custom products. Modern electronic systems almost always feature processors, making digital interfaces such as I²C and a 3.3 V power supply the standard. The AMS 5915 is a high-precision pressure sensor with these characteristics, available in various versions for absolute, relative, and differential pressure measurements.
For easy and fast initial operation or direct pressure and temperature measurement on a PC, the Starter Kit AMS 5915 is available. This sensor-USB interface allows a simple connection of the AMS 5915 to a standard PC via USB and provides direct measurement display under Windows (from version XP SP3).
Features and Benefits:
- Easy Handling: The sensor is placed in a ZIF socket (Textool socket) and can be easily replaced if needed.
- Direct Measurement Acquisition: Pressure and temperature values are displayed in physical units or digital values on the PC without additional components.
- Data Logging: Measured values can be stored in the interface for further analysis.
- I²C Signal Output: Digital sensor data can be accessed directly behind the sensor.
- Individual Addressing: The interface enables assigning individual I²C addresses for the use of multiple sensors in a network

AMS 5915 – High-Precision OEM Pressure Sensor
The AMS 5915 series is factory-calibrated, temperature-compensated (-25 to 85 °C), and linearized. The sensors provide both pressure and temperature as digital values in I²C format. They are available in a robust dual-in-line package (DIP) for PCB mounting and require no additional components for operation. The pressure connection is made via vertical metallic ports or optionally for O-ring mounting.
The AMS 5915 sensors are available in various pressure ranges – from 0–5 mbar to 0–10 bar as differential and relative sensors, as well as absolute pressure and barometric versions. Special bidirectional differential models also enable measurement of both vacuum and overpressure with a single sensor.
Applications
The AMS 5915 sensors are used in various applications, including gas flow and dynamic pressure measurement, level monitoring, vacuum control, and barometric measurements.
The sensor-USB interface simplifies commissioning and usage of these high-precision OEM sensors—ideal for developers and system integrators looking for a fast and reliable solution.
