- AMSYS GmbH & Co. KG simplifies the use of ceramic pressure sensors with screw-on stainless steel housing-

Ceramic pressure sensors offer exceptional chemical resistance, but until now their installation has often presented engineers with challenges. The new ME900 relative pressure sensor from AMSYS solves this problem by integrating it into a screw-on stainless steel housing at the factory. This opens up access to the chemical robustness of ceramic sensors to a wider range of users.

The ME900 is based on high-quality Al2O3 ceramic sensors that are resistant to almost all aggressive media. Until now, however, offset errors often occurred when pressing on bare measuring cells due to housing stresses. The permanently installed sensor in a stainless steel housing (AISI 316) with 1/8 gas thread (UNI338) reliably prevents these distortions and enables precise and stable pressure measurement.

With an outer diameter of just 9 mm, the ME900 is compact and easy to install. It is available in the pressure ranges 10 bar, 20 bar, 50 bar and 100 bar and provides a ratiometric output signal at a supply voltage of 5 V. The power consumption is less than 6 mA.

The sensor is thermally compensated and calibrated and achieves a measuring accuracy of up to 1 % at 25 °C and 1.4 % in the temperature range from 0 °C to 85 °C. The operating temperature ranges from -20 °C to 85 °C, making the ME900 extremely versatile. Thanks to its integrated ASIC, calibration and temperature compensation take place during production. The ASIC also monitors the ageing process and enables traceability through the stored batch number.

The ME900 is particularly suitable for applications with (contaminated) water or aggressive media, e.g. in (waste) water technology, medical technology and hydraulics. Its self-sufficient operation without additional circuitry makes it the ideal choice for demanding industrial applications.

With the ME900, AMSYS is expanding its sensor portfolio and offering engineers a solution that combines precision, robustness and simple installation in a compact sensor.
