AMSYS GmbH & Co. KG, Mainz – With IntraSense, AMSYS introduces the smallest in-vivo pressure sensor, specifically designed for integration into catheters with a diameter of just 1 French. The ultra-compact sensor measures only 750 μm × 220 μm × 75 μm and comes pre-connected to a highly flexible, protected cable, ensuring easy handling.

- Precise Pressure Measurement for Demanding Medical Applications-

The absolute pressure sensor is designed for use in air and saline fluids such as blood, cerebrospinal fluid, or urine, making it ideal for arteriosclerosis diagnostics, urology, as well as neurosurgical and ophthalmological procedures. It provides accurate and stable measurements within the clinically relevant range of -300 mmHg to +500 mmHg, which can be customized for specific applications.

For light-sensitive applications, the IntraSense SMI-1B offers a version with a light-blocking coating, protecting the sensor from external light sources. This makes it suitable for use in endoscopic procedures or other applications requiring integrated lighting.

-Flexible Customization Options for Various Requirements-

The IntraSense sensor is available with an open cable end or with a PCB and pin connectors. Additionally, it can be supplied with standard or custom cable lengths, ensuring the best possible fit for specific application needs.

-Evaluation Kit for Quick Implementation-

To facilitate quick and easy integration, an evaluation kit is available, enabling pressure and temperature readings via a USB interface. Data can be processed using free, open-source Arduino software. The kit includes multiple sensors and is offered in two standard cable lengths (60 cm and 180 cm), available in both standard and light-protected versions.
