Cutting-edge pressure sensor technology combined with a proven analog output in a tiny DIL-6 package – that’s the new AMS 6832 differential and relative pressure sensor. With pressure ranges from ±125 pascals up to ±100 mbar, this new AMSYS sensor is perfectly suited for versatile use in ventilation, CPAP, and anesthesia devices. Spirometers and insufflators will also benefit from this compact all-rounder. Thanks to its one-sided media resistance, it can additionally be used in infusion and suction pumps (NPWT). Beyond medical technology, the sensor also finds applications in building technology (HVAC) for pressure and flow measurements.

In addition to its ratiometric analog output, the low-pressure sensor provides a digital I²C interface with 24-bit resolution for maximum precision. Via this channel, the AMS 6832 can transmit not only its low-noise pressure readings, but also the temperature to virtually any available microcontroller.

The compact sensor in a robust DIL-6 package for PCB mounting is based on a piezoresistive silicon pressure cell paired with a state-of-the-art signal processing ASIC. The AMS 6832 offers a total error of less than 1% (for pressures > ±5 mbar) across the temperature range of -25 to +85 °C, and half that error at room temperature, making it one of the smallest and most accurate differential pressure sensors available.

AMSYS offers this sensor for pressure ranges from ±125 Pa up to 100 mbar, covering various bi- and unidirectional differential and relative pressures. Customer-specific adaptations are possible. To support rapid prototyping, AMSYS GmbH provides a USB starter kit for initial setup as well as a dedicated team of consultants.
