Python GUI for ADwin real-time systems in test benches and special machines.

ADwin systems are based on the principle of a process computer that guarantees maximum efficiency and reliability in time-critical applications such as control systems. The applications run on the system's own CPU in real time in the kHz to MHz range and with nanosecond precision.
Signals from analog/digital inputs and outputs as well as digital interfaces are quickly processed and reacted to in each individual sampling step by the 64-bit floating-point CPU directly in the system.

The real-time development environments ADwin-C or ADbasic are available for programming the systems. For model-based developments with Matlab®/Simulink®, the ADwin Blockset ADsim is available together with ADsim-Desk. User interfaces for this can now also be conveniently realized in Python. Examples and/or workshops support the developers. The established interfaces to Labview®, .NET, c/c+, DIAdem® and many other environments are of course still available.

There is a clear distribution of tasks for ADwin with Python:
- The time-critical, fast and deterministic part of the application is executed on ADwin, independently of a PC and its workload.
- Visualization, operation and data storage are carried out in Python on a PC connected via Ethernet. For this communication between ADwin and PC, there is a data interface for all ADwin systems to a large selection of different common PC programs.
- If required, several interfaces for PLC communication and a bootloader for standalone operation are also available.
