Precise Pressure Measurement Directly via PLC: The New AMS 2710 Pressure Sensor Module

Pressure measurement in control systems such as PLCs or other modular controllers often presents a challenge: Traditional encapsulated transmitters are usually too large and expensive, while simple OEM sensors require additional electronics for voltage adaptation and protection.
The AMS 2710 offers a smart solution for industrial applications: This compact pressure sensor module can be integrated directly into existing systems without the need for additional electronics. It operates with a supply voltage of 12 to 36 V and provides a 0–10 V output signal—ideal for applications such as extraction systems or air filters.
The AMS 2710 series consists of ready-to-install, high-precision pressure sensors for absolute, relative, and differential pressure measurements across a wide pressure range from 5 mbar to 2 bar. A bidirectional differential pressure variant is also available for both vacuum and overpressure measurements.
With a robust, reverse-polarity-protected signal output and integrated current limitation, the AMS 2710 is specifically designed for industrial environments. Various connection options—including solder contacts, connectors, or terminal blocks—provide additional flexibility during integration.
Each PCB sensor module is individually calibrated and compensated, achieving an overall accuracy of 0.5% FS for pressure ranges above 200 mbar. Even under extreme conditions from -25 to 85 °C, measurement accuracy remains consistently high.
The new PCB pressure sensor modules bridge the gap between simple OEM sensors, which require additional components, and fully encapsulated transmitters. They can be seamlessly integrated into existing control systems or serve as a basis for customized pressure transmitters with dedicated housings.
In addition to the AMS 2710, further models are available:
AMS 2711: with a 0–5 V output signal
AMS 2712: with a 4–20 mA current output
Custom pressure ranges up to 10 bar and additional modifications are available upon request.
