DLPC-Series linear potentiometers for crash-test-dummies
12.03.2024
The risk of injury of vital organs in the torso can be determined with crash tests. The measurement of the deformation of the rib-cage of a crash-test-dummy is a good method to evaluate this risk. Multiple linear potentiometers are mounted between the ribs and the spine of the dummy for this measurement. Special linear potentiometers had to be designed for this application: The linear potentiometers had to be very robust, precise and low-noise in order to deliver reliable information and the form factor had to be designed to match the limited room and mounting possibilities available.
In close cooperation with the automotive industry, disynet has designed bespoke linear potentiometers 'made to measure' the rib-cage deformation of crash-test-dummies.
With these displacement sensors of the DLPC-series, disynet rounds off their current spectrum of crash-test sensors for acceleration, force, torque and pressure.
