For applications where conventional level sensors reach their limits, EBE offers capacitive level sensor technology based on corTEC® technology. The sensors are designed for precise measurements with media that are difficult to detect or processes in which adhesions and residues are unavoidable. With capacitive level sensors based on corTEC® technology, EBE offers a solution that has been specially developed for these demanding conditions.

EBE’s capacitive level sensors are suitable for media with low conductivities as well as for liquid, viscous, pasty, granular, or powdery substances. Even bulk materials with inhomogeneous properties can be reliably detected. A key area of application is where conductive deposits occur on the container walls, for example due to biofilms, condensates, or adhering media. These influences lead to drift or incorrect measurements in many measuring principles, but are specifically compensated for in capacitive measurement with corTEC® technology.

LCRC Level Sensor: Stable Measurement despite Heavy Buildup

The LCRC level sensor measures the level completely contact-free from the outside through the container wall. Even with heavy buildup inside, the sensor reliably detects the level because corTEC® is able to distinguish between the capacity of the actual medium and that of the adhering layer. The sensor is therefore a robust solution in systems where residues, foaming, or biofilms interfere with level detection. The non-contact measurement also reduces maintenance and prevents media-related wear or contamination.

Advantages and Typical Applications of the LCRC Sensor

The LCRC sensor combines a compact design measuring just 30 × 30 mm (1.18 x 1.18 in) with high measurement stability under difficult process conditions. Mounting outside the container allows it to be used even in hygienically sensitive or difficult-to-access systems. Typical media include blood and secretions, a wide variety of foods, cleaning and rinsing media, as well as liquids with high viscosity and/or pronounced adhesive behavior and film or coating formation. Areas of application include laboratory and analytical equipment, medical technology, compact process vessels, dosing and cleaning systems, cooling and heating systems, and small chemical and biotechnological systems. For application-oriented validation, EBE provides an evaluation kit that allows the sensor behavior to be tested directly in the target system and with the actual medium.
