This means: no components prone to wear, minimal maintenance requirements throughout the ship’s entire service life, and stable readings even when the ship is moving and the liquid level in the tank fluctuates.
LevelPro Level Sensors
These sensors enable continuous measurement even in harsh environments and with aggressive media. They are made of marine-grade 316 stainless steel, feature fully sealed electronics, and operate over a wide temperature range up to 125 degrees Celsius. Fuel, oils, coolant, as well as fresh and salt water are reliably measured despite the heat and vibrations in the engine room.
LevelPro sensors operate reliably even in the harshest marine environments. In Class 1 offshore powerboat racing, seawater ballast tanks are subjected to repeated extreme shock loads at speeds of nearly 200 miles per hour. The sensors originally installed on these tanks lasted only one or two races before failing under these conditions. The capacitive Gill sensors that replaced them operated for eight years without a single failure. Gill level sensors are also installed fleet-wide in Griffon Hoverwork’s hovercraft, where they monitor fuel levels in an environment of severe vibration and turbulent sea conditions over a seven-year service life.
Each sensor is factory-calibrated and temperature-compensated, making it ready for immediate use. A tank profiling function accounts for irregular tank shapes to display the actual volume rather than just the liquid level, and thanks to a built-in high- or low-level alarm output, an independent switch is included without the cost of a separate device.
Although the sensors are not ATEX-certified, certification can be obtained for projects of sufficient scale.
LevelSlick Sensors
They were specifically developed for challenging liquids such as slurries, wastewater, colloids, and media containing suspended solids. Thanks to their design—which features no openings or moving parts—clogging or blockages are virtually impossible. The PTFE-coated surface also ensures long-lasting measurement accuracy and prevents drift and incorrect readings over time.
LevelSlick sensors feature a simulated resistive output and are available in both current and voltage versions.
