Shifted Excitation Raman Difference Spektroskopie (SERDS) – kompaktes Turnkey-Lasersystem für Vor-Ort-Messungen

The compact turnkey laser system developed by the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut includes a dual-wavelength diode laser for SERDS as key element. SERDS enables to extract Raman signals efficiently and rapidly from disturbing background interferences such as fluorescence and daylight. The monolithic Y-branch DBR-RW diode laser provides alternate emission light of two slightly different wavelengths. Both wavelengths are stabilized by separate DBR gratings integrated into the semiconductor device. The spectral distance for SERDS can be electrically adjusted by using implemented on-chip heater elements. The system has been demonstrated for wavelengths around 785 nm, 671 nm and 488 nm and successfully utilized for measurements in life science and agri-photonics.
