COORSTEK TO SHOWCASE MASS PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES OF HIGHLY COMPLEX TECHNICAL CERAMIC SENSOR COMPONENTS AT SENSOR+TEST

Nuremberg, Germany, April 16, 2020 – CoorsTek, a leading manufacturer of technical ceramics, will showcase the benefits of technical ceramics for sensor applications at the Sensor+Test, June 23-25, 2020. The company will display its latest sensor technologies for a wide range of industries in Hall 1, Booth 529 in Nuremberg, Germany.

“Unlike other ceramics suppliers, CoorsTek is capable of mass producing highly complex sensor components for advanced technology applications”, Andreas Schneider, Executive Vice President, Europe. “With our world-class manufacturing expertise, CoorsTek addresses our customers’ needs for individualized and application-specific solutions.”

Extraordinary material properties make technical ceramics the ideal materials for critical sensor components—providing reliable and repeatable performance combined with acute thermal management, electrical insulation, and corrosion resistance. With outstanding material properties and fabrication techniques, ceramics are becoming the desirable choice over metals and plastics in many sensor applications such as:
Automotive: Precision ceramic pressure and temperature sensor components are used in fuel pump pressure, oil pressure, exhaust gas temperature sensors, and more.

CoorsTek has developed new technologies for autonomous vehicles and other Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with components to enable LiDAR assemblies, including lightweight silicon carbide mirrors to direct and steer laser beams, high-end temperature resistant substrates, and a new breakthrough material to eliminate active controls within the systems.

Medical: Advanced ceramic components are used in a multitude of applications and can currently be found in variety of medical appliance sensors. Ceramics can also be found in many fluid management systems, including level, pressure, and flow sensors used for monitoring crucial fluids for medical diagnostics.

Household durables: The trend towards interconnectivity is driving increased sensor usage across all appliance platforms, and designers are seeking new and innovative ways to address the need for smart connectivity and functionality.

CoorsTek manufacturing processes and technical ceramics offer hundreds of formulations designed to meet individual specifications for a wide range of markets. CoorsTek experts will be on hand at Sensor+Test to discuss specific projects and customized applications with customers.
