EVK Proudly Presents the New Helios EQ32, a Hyperspectral Imaging System with Integrated Real-Time Analytics
High-precision and high-performance signal and data processing: EVK launches Helios EQ32, a real-time system for spatially resolved measurements in industrial analysis applications.
Graz, 25 April 2019 – EVK, the expert in industrial imaging, presents Helios EQ32 – its latest innovation for the real-time data analysis of industrial material flows. The spatially resolved near-infrared camera system for contactless measurement makes it easy to record and analyse the chemical properties of bulk materials.
Developed in close cooperation with engineering partners, Helios EQ32 is specially designed to measure under industrial operating conditions. Helios EQ32 optimally analyses material streams directly in the processing line thanks to its robust optomechanical design optimised for real-life industrial temperatures, machine designs and application fields as well as the data processing capabilities and algorithms developed specifically for analytics.
Dr Matthias Kerschhaggl, Head of Development and Research at EVK, explains: ‘Helios EQ32 brings the lab right to the processing line. Building on our many years of experience in industrial imaging, we have created a system that offers completely new applications in quantitative analysis and can also be fully integrated in the processing line due to features such as real-time capability and industrial robustness.’
He adds: ‘This enables our customers to master difficult or as yet unresolved analytical tasks. The possible applications range, for example, from the detection of the amygdalin content in almonds to the determination of production-relevant parameters such as calorific value and moisture content in solid recovered fuel.
The system is configured using the EVK software SQALAR. The workflow is seamless: chemometric models are generated and transmitted effortlessly. The entire analysis process takes place in the Helios EQ32 system, so no external analysis systems are required. However, GigeVision/GeniCam and Camera Link make it possible to connect the system to an existing analysis system. Helios EQ32 includes effective 312 pixels spatial resolution, measures in the 930 – 1700 nm wavelength range, and scans at a frame rate of 446 Hz full frame.
