Salt Fog Corrosion Testing
Corrosion, or Salt fog, tests are highly accelerated tests for material or surface coating corrosion resistance. Typical standards in use are “IEC 60068-2-11 Ka: Salt mist” and “ASTM B117”. A typical corrosion test is Neutral Salt Spray with 5% NaCl solution performed in chamber temperature of +35 C. Modified Salt Spray Tests can be based on cyclic test procedure or acidified (ph modified) test procedure. “IEC 60068-2-11 Ka: Salt mist” -standard is on under update process and the new version will be ready in the future. Toptester Oy will help you to find correct corrosion test procedure for your needs!
