In today’s world, typified by up-to-the-minute technical products with short life spans, strain gauges are an essential sensor element in many fields of technology. Despite their age, strain gauges are extremely effective. Since their invention about 65 years ago, strain gauges are characterised by their continued adaption to the industrial demands and modification requirements for special applications. This flexibility enabled them to always remain state-of-the-art components used in great quantities in many fields of application.

By presenting a collection of old and special strain gauges in a retrospective exhibition,
imc Test & Measurement, imc Meßsysteme and imcADD acknowledge the significance of this interesting sensor element.

Sensors and measurement technology for testing durability and driving dynamics -
live demo on an instrumented vehicle

At the test drive area, visitors can expect to find a test vehicle that is equipped with state-of-the-art sensor and measurement technology from imc & caemax.

Experience for yourself the high precision of the watertight WFT wheel force transducer as it detects wheel forces and torques in all three axes. You will also have the chance to test the accuracy of the LUXACT non-contact distance and speed sensor during a test drive. In addition, you can see how a modern imc data logger synchronously acquires data from
all of the built-in sensors and vehicle buses and transmits them to a notebook for online visualization.

Advanced logic analyzer features for faster debugging

Traditionally, logic analyzers are used to capture logic signals in a given time frame for further analysis. Over the last decades, logic analyzers have evolved to englobe power trigger machanisms that allow the user to pinpoint interesting parts of a signal. After a quick overview of existing solutions, this lecture shows how advanced logic analyzers that can simultaneously capture and generate signals can be used to stimulate a system with deterministic patterns and record its response.

Furthermore, a live test on a simple I2C circuit is performed to highlight a real life use case, where an addressing problem can be quickly found and solved.
