Final Report SENSOR+TEST 2014
SENSOR+TEST 2014 Growth Excels in Exhibitor and Visitor Figures
The SENSOR+TEST in Nuremberg, the internationally leading trade fair for sensors, measuring, and testing technology, shines this year in the light of growth in all key figures. Moreover, the results from exhibitor and visitor polls indicate a high degree of satisfaction for all participants.
Exactly 7,983 professionals came to the SENSOR+TEST 2014, a slight increase in visitors compared to last year. The increase in the number of exhibitors to 575 – compared to last year’s 543 – is more distinct. While the number of German exhibitors (366) remained quite constant, the share of international exhibitors (209) set a new record with 36%. Noteworthy is also that 95% of these exhibitors made new business contacts in Nuremberg – and consequently just as many expect a significant follow-up business.
Commenting on the good mood among the exhibitors, Arthur Rönisch, general manager at TURCK duotec GmbH, said: “Our participation at the SENSOR+TEST was certainly worth our while as well. We met many of our old clients as well as new ones. The talks we had revolved mostly around the implementation of concrete projects. This clearly shows the high level of this trade fair. We’ll be back again next year – in fact we’ve already booked.”
Hard to top are the 98% of the visitors who were satisfied with the information offering at the stands. More than two-thirds of all visitors are from the industry, mostly active in mechanical or electrical engineering, plant construction, and automotives. And more than half of them work in research, development, and design departments.
Asked about the economic situation of the sensor industry, 51% of the exhibitors and indeed 62% of the visitors responded with the expectation that business would continue to pick up. Christoph Kleye, chairman of the Exhibitors’ Committee and CEO of IS-LINE GmbH, confirms, “We can tell that the innovation drive in the industry is on the rise. This will result in many first-rate projects – especially for the sensor and measuring industry.”
Holger Bödeker, managing director of AMA Service GmbH, the organizer of the fair, has good news about its future: “In 2016 the SENSOR+TEST will move to other exhibition halls. These new halls will provide exhibitors and visitors with significantly enhanced opportunities to advance the innovation dialog. This sets the course for a continued, solid development of the trade fair.”
The next SENSOR+TEST will be held from 19 to 21 May 2015 again at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center, parallel to the biannual AMA Conferences, SENSOR and IRS².
