Robust Spectroscopy Setup for Quantum Sensors

news imagedownload
Quantum sensors are important components for future applications in space and for fundamental scientific missions, e.g. for the next generation of global satellite navigation systems, earth observation and fundamental research such as tests of general relativity. For this purpose, the FMD institute Ferdinand-Braun-Institut has developed a micro-integrated spectroscopy module. It serves as an optical frequency reference for the lasers used to cool and manipulate the rubidium atoms of atom-interferometric sensors.
- very compact (120x75x23 mm3)
- small mass (750 g)
- space-compatible technology
- suitable for different spectroscopic methods (e.g. frequency modulation spectroscopy, modulation transfer spectroscopy)
