4012A - Absolute pressure sensors for hydrogen applications
Apr 15, 2025
The Type 4012A pressure sensor from Kistler is specifically designed for precise and stable pressure measurements under extreme conditions. Pressure is applied through a thin steel membrane and oil as a transmission medium to a silicon measuring cell, which contains piezoresistive resistors in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. This setup ensures an output signal proportional to the pressure.
The sensor components are made of hydrogen-resistant stainless steel, and the gold-coated membrane reduces hydrogen diffusion, ensuring stable measurements. Fully shielded cables and kink protection minimize signal interference and cable damage, providing better signal quality. Thanks to standardized connectors and digital compensation, the Type 4012A can be seamlessly integrated with piezoresistive amplifiers. The sensor is part of the digitally compensated DS sensor family and equipped with PiezoSmart, enabling easy and reliable integration into various measurement systems.
