Introduction to the Development of Intelligent Sensor Industry in Shenzhen
In 2023, Shenzhen's GDP reached 3.46 trillion yuan, ranking third in the country, only behind Shanghai and Beijing. As one of the most important industrial cities in China, Shenzhen's industrial output value exceeded 4.85 trillion yuan in 2022, leading among large and medium-sized cities in China and accounting for over one-third of its GDP. The electronic information manufacturing industry is the leading sector in Shenzhen's industrial landscape, with its output value reaching 2.5 trillion yuan in 2023, ranking first among large and medium-sized cities in China and constituting approximately one-sixth of the total national electronic information industry.
The solid foundation of the electronic information industry has provided a broad application market for the sensor industry, creating fertile ground for the development of the sensor industry in Shenzhen. As of early 2024, there are more than 450 intelligent sensor enterprises in Shenzhen, including leading companies such as AAC Technologies, Ampron, and RoboSense Technolog, covering a wide range of categories including pressure, gas, infrared, acoustic, and optical sensors. These sensors are widely used in consumer electronics, smart connected vehicles, industrial production, and smart cities. The Shenzhen International Sensor and Application Technology Exhibition, held in the first half of each year, is the largest professional sensor exhibition in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Shenzhen has already planned a specialized park for intelligent sensors, providing over a million square meters of factory space for research, development, and production by sensor enterprises. Additionally, a 5-billion-yuan special industrial fund has been established to focus on investing in high-quality sensor enterprises and projects, supporting these enterprises in expanding their investments and production in Shenzhen. The Shenzhen Smart Sensor Industry Association and the Shenzhen Intelligent Sensor Industry Alliance regularly organize local sensor enterprises to connect with downstream application customers, continuously assisting sensor enterprises in accessing application markets. Currently, Shenzhen has become one of the most dynamic cities in China's sensor industry development.
