Digital hydrogen sensor H2-CNI I2C-I FWB-B and -A
14.05.2024
This new, fully digitally controllable and readable calorimetric hydrogen sensor H2-CNI I2C-I FWB enables the precise detection of hydrogen in the range from a few hundred ppm up to 12% by volume in air with a linear calibration curve. The sensor works in the industrial temperature range (-40 °C to +85 °C) and has high temperature stability. It is characterized by fast response and decay times in the range of seconds. The sensor is insensitive to typical catalyst poisons such as volatile siloxane compounds and also has no cross-sensitivity to hydrocarbons such as methane or ethane. What is characteristic is that its zero signal is not influenced by humidity and the sensor can be used at relative humidity between 0% and 100%.
In the sensor housing, the active sensor element is connected together with a reference element to form a complete Wheatstone bridge configuration, which contains a digital rheostat with non-volatile memory for the zero point setting.
The sensor is available as an “advanced” version FWB-A and “basic” version FWB-B with adjustable precision voltage source for bridge excitation (FWB-A only), programmable amplifier (PGA), 16-bit delta sigma analogue digital converter,
digital temperature sensor and a 1K EEPROM, all with I2C® bus connectivity.
The advantages of the digital sensor over our analog versions are that the zero point and the gain (sensitivity) can be changed digitally and the calibration data is stored in the EEPROM. Further relevant data is stored in the EEPROM.
