The detection of near-infrared radiation offers a wide range of applications in automation, safety engineering and quality assurance. Typically, it is not the application possibilities that are the limiting limiting factor, but rather the economic implementation of the applications with the available technology.
Fraunhofer IPMS has many years of experience in the fabrication of photonic devices and operates its own CMOS compatible MEMS fabrication.
With an innovative approach, novel Schottky photodetectors are being developed in the iCampµs Cottbus project, which allow detection of near-infrared radiation in the short-wave infrared (SWIR) range.
